Railway is an exemplary model of inclusive housing, challenging conventional approaches to specialistaccommodation through a design that elevates accessibility, enriches community connection and deliversoutstanding architectural and social outcomes.

Our response was founded on the principle that accessible housing should be indistinguishable in quality, characterand amenity from any other well-designed residential development. Accessibility is seamlessly integratedthroughout the building while presenting as a refined apartment building rather than a specialised care facility.

The curved brick facade provides a strong architectural identity while carefully modulating the scale of the three-storey building within its neighbourhood context. Deeply recessed balconies, integrated planting and generousglazing create highly liveable apartments with excellent access to natural light, ventilation and private outdoorspace. The project delivers durable vinyl plank flooring in each apartment, selected for its resilience, slip resistance,and ease of replacement. Step-free generous clear circulation paths support intuitive movement throughout thespaces.
